On May 7th, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian presided over a regular press conference. A reporter asked if Chinese leaders announced during their visit to France that they would extend the visa free policy for citizens of 12 countries, including France, for short-term visits to China until the end of 2025. Can the spokesperson provide specific information?
Lin Jian stated that in order to further promote the exchange of Chinese and foreign personnel, China has decided to extend the visa free policy for 12 countries including France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Malaysia, Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium, and Luxembourg. By December 31, 2025, individuals holding ordinary passports from these countries who come to China for business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends, and transit for no more than 15 days can enter China without applying for visas.
